Cross Stitch, Work in Progress!

I don’t normally show off works in progress but I just had to with this piece. It’s a counted cross stitch and it’s been a bear to work on! It’s almost half done and the hardest parts are mostly complete.

A close-up of my insane work.

Have I mentioned how hard this one is? Yipes.

Vintage Gravel Art!

So I picked up an unused vintage gravel art kit on etsy.com and I whipped it up with a quickness! Gravel art was popular on the heels of paint-by-number kits. Basically, the kit has an outline, you fill in the glue and sprinkle on the “gravel” or beads or whatever. Then you let it dry and shake off the excess.

I like this one. I’m not sure where I’m going to put it.

Halloween House, Berwyn, IL

A wacky decorated Haunted House in Berwyn, Illinois! Click on the photo to make it bigger–it’s worth it! Sadly, the homeowner had already taken down a great many decorations but what is left is still impressive. You won’t see any crappy blow-up ghosts here! Giant Spiders and the dragon coming out of the roof is my favorite. I will go back next year to get the full scene with all the decor!
An evil sculpted tree. I think the really stunning thing about the decorations at this house is the quality and the level of detail. These are not Walgreen’s sale items, you know what I mean?Hmm. I wonder what this dude does for Christmas decorations?
